The film adaption of The Hunger Games, a popular young adult trilogy set in a post-apocalyptic dsytopian world, is not set to release until March 23rd. But Lionsgate noted that today marks 74 more days until the film releases:
The film takes place during the 74th Annual Hunger Games, and today marks the celebration of 74 days until the film’s release.
To celebrate this milestone, they announced that advance tickets sales for The Hunger Games film will begin on February 22nd via and

The Hunger Games follows the story of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen from District 12. North America is in ruins, separated in to several districts and  renamed Panem. After an uprising against the Panem government failed, the government started the Hunger Games as a cruel form of punishment and retribution. The  Hunger Games is yearly, live televised event that requires one randomly chosen “tribute” from each district. These tributes are between the ages of 11 to 18, and they must fight to the death as there can only be one winner. During the drawing for the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss’ little sister Prim is chosen as District 12’s tribute. Katniss volunteers to take her sisters place.  Now she must prepare to face the brutality and danger waiting for her in the games.

On a personal note, I’d like to add that despite The Hunger Games being labeled “young adult,” they are accessible for adults as well. I tore through all three books last year and loved them. There’s more to it than meets the eye. I don’t want to give anything away so I won’t say anymore than that, but I highly recommend the books for any fan of post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction. I also think it’s wonderful that a strong young female is at the center of the book, something direly needed in popular young adult fiction lately.

I live in northern MD and the tickets went on sale yesterday. Yet I can’t find any theaters that are showing a midnight premier of it in my area.
I am so pissed off right now because these theatres even aren’t selling advance tickets for the opening day! I’m a huge fan of the books and really want to go to this.
Is this meaning that this isn’t going to be a big deal in the box office? I see all these advertisements on fandango, youtube, and all the movies sites yet why is there nothing for it.
My friends say that it is going to end up being a minor movie because they aren’t advertising it on television like they did with Twilight and Harry Potter.
So what the hell is going on??????????/

Tickets for the hunger games go on sale tomorrow, and I was wondering, how fast do you think they will sell out? I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to the midnight premiere, but a ton of people say they’re going. Do you think I’ll have to stay up 2nite and buy them at midnight? Thanks in advance :).

I’m having a bunch of troubles with glitches in my Hunger Games Adventures, and reporting the problems doesn’t seem to help. Is there any way that I can start the game over again?

What symbols are important in the hunger games when they start the hunger games. For example the woods and the mocking jays. And explanation to what these symbols mean.

  • Tyler H

ONLY in the hunger games not mockingjay or catching fire! I already know that the games itself is a hardship i just need like 4 more hardships and misfortunes and an explanation of each ?

What would be a thing that a lot of people don’t understand in the hunger games series? I mean the figurative language is not that easy to mistake for literacy. If you’ve read all three books, you would 1000% for sure know that Panem is a future north-america in rebellion

I live in a city with a population of roughly 69078 (Spring Hill, Florida). I was wondering what time I should go to the midnight premier of The Hunger Games? I have already pre-bought my tickets on fandango. Anyone have a guess at a time I should leave at, it takes around 25-30 minutes to get to the movie theater. Thanks in advance.
The theater is pretty good sized too.

I am a MAJOR fan of The Hunger Games and I wanted to see how many weeks or days is the film left in the cinema? Not how long the film is because I actually already know that?

My daughter would like to see the movie and read the book Hunger Games. She is 11. BUT she is very mature and unfortunately she knows all bad words and “adult” personal things. Can you tell me what age this is for and what Hunger Games is about? I have heard that it has somethings that are not for kids?
