Nokia Goes Viral With New Smartphone Ad Campaign

by Baron W.April 2, 2012

We’ve seen hundreds of ad campaigns over the years, but none of them have seemed as fitting as Nokia’s. This ad campaign focuses on the presumption that smartphones are nothing more than a beta test for something better to come in the future. What has me absolutely loving this new viral ad campaign is the fact that it actively takes shot’s at Apple’s iPhone, and digs at problems that many smartphone users complain of.  And what makes it even better is that they address these issues with an individual who clearly represents the public, and with the responses of two corporate big wigs that are clearly out of touch with what the consumer wants. Check out the videos below to see exactly what I’m talking about.

It appears to me that marketing a website by way of campaign ad the exact same day the internet site is start is a excellent idea. A Lot like ad marketing campaign for a new restaurant, company, etc.

Some is also suggesting viral advertising and marketing is advantageous for website business. I believe viral marketing and advertising would function afterwards in the business.

I have to arrive up with a catchy slogan that shows the correct face of a industrial solution and shows what’s undesirable about them. I am starting a new business venture and my ad campaign will be a grassroots type campaign at first. By that I mean a door to door flyer campaign. I am wondering what are the limitations of this type of campaign, but also how can I improve it. I plan to just pound the pavement and hand deliver flyers. I also have a fully functional website with more information and some cool flash presentations, pricing info, etc..

I’m just wondering should I cast a really wide net, in different types of neighborhoods, or just really bombard my local area? Also for a mail campaign, what is a good number of homes to hit? Is 500 enough? Should I do like 100 per neighborhood? Just curious if anyone has any experience with this. This is a big metropolitan city in the Midwest.
    thanks

How do we track the internet ad campaign of a specific brand? Is there any free resource? Say, American Express runs a campaign on internet, is there any site that helps track all the sites where American Express places its ads.

  • Jack Bauer

Its quite comical now that he has been in office for 6 months.

This Obama Campaign ad is funny, yet sad at the same time. With just a touch of Hypocrisy. Can we blame this Ad on Bush somehow, so Obama doesnt look like a total fraud?

  • SKATEskum

It’s official. As of today Rick Perry’s anti-gay campaign ad has the highest ratio of dislikes-to-likes in Youtube history, beating out Rebecca Black’s infamous video “Friday.” The current count for Perry’s ad is around 747,000 dislikes to 6,300 likes.

Any guesses on why this happened?

There was an ad campaign by a cell phone company where they mashed all the cities names they were talking about into one word. What company did this commercial?

Big fashion houses do not divulge the names of the photographer and art director involved in their ad campaign. Why is this a secret and how do i find the info anyway? Thank you!

McCain is on fire with his ads, garnering support from everyone, including a signifigant gain in the polls.

These newest ads featuring Rezko, Ayers, and the newest ‘The One’ ad will go a long way.

Spears/Hilton is also a famous ad.

Im a student and Im busy working on an ad campaign for jeans. The target market are young women aged 18-24, career orientated and slightly feminist. The slogan for the campaign is “Have it your way” I have to create a 20 sec radio spot and a 30 television ad, and I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any creative ideas?

Create a political campaign ad (a poster, a flier, etc.) for two political parties: one party that supports traditional moral and political philosophies and another party that supports modern moral and political philosophies. For each campaign ad, provide a party name, a campaign slogan, and a written explanation of the party’s platform concerning a moral controversy of your choice.

It seems to me that promoting a website via campaign ad the same day the website is launch is a great idea. Much like ad campaign for a new restaurant, company, etc.

Some is also suggesting viral marketing is beneficial for website business. I think viral marketing would work later in the business.

I really like the work of one of the actors in the Bank of America “floating logo” advertisement that was showing during the baseball playoffs, and I would like to give BofA, the ad agency, and her reps positive feedback. If anyone knows the right address for the bank’s marketing people or the actual ad agency I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

More specifically, what would be the common terms for defining:

    1. A group of different ad creatives that collectively deliver a consistent message. That is, two 30 second TV spots and one 60 second TV spot all promoting Tide’s new detergent.

    2. Each of the individual pieces of creative that may be delivered. So in the example above, what would the one 60 second TV spot be called.

  • Motordom

This ad campaign featured a picture of an object posted once with one word across it, and then again with a different and very contrasting word. It was using your perspective shifts to grab your attention.

For example: A picture of a piggy bank saying full, and then the same picture again but saying empty.

I remember seeing these ads as I entered and exited my flights. Can anybody remember which company was using this for their advertising?
    Thanks!

I always seem to see them on tv whenever i’m not able to take down the details. Anyways i’m looking for a web site or what have you that can give me a whole bunch of contests that ask you to come up with different ideas for shows, movies, ad campaigns, product ideas or what have you. I love doing that sort of stuff. Anyone know where i can find these sorts of contests?
