Radical Entertainment Is No More; Activision Indirectly Blames Us Gamers

by Charles PowersJune 28, 2012

Video game studio, Radical Entertainment, who brought us Prototype and Prototype 2 has been shutdown by Activision.

Kotaku reports that Activision shut the game studio down because Prototype could never find an audience.

We received a statement from Activision on the studio’s closing:

Although we made a substantial investment in the Prototype IP, it did not find a broad commercial audience.  Radical is a very talented team of developers, however, we have explored various options for the studio, including a potential sale of the business, and have made a difficult conclusion through the consultation process that the only remaining option is a significant reduction in staff.  As such, some employees will remain working for Radical Entertainment supporting other existing Activision Publishing projects, but the studio will cease development of its own games going forward.

Not too long ago, Radical Entertainment Senior Audio Director, @rbridgett tweeted:

Activision, who publishes the #1 selling video game franchise in the world, may be indirectly hinting at the fact that the Prototype franchise did not meet its quota.

Either way this is a sad day for the video game industry; our condolences to the lives affected by this loss.

i mean… adam was doing fine on his own(he already have the animals as companions.. yet god thought he was lonely..) so, god decided to play with him by creating a woman to be his additional companion.. or more as entertainment..

this eventually led to his downfall, the evidence of which is still felt now.. with ‘radical-feminists feeding men and the society with bad apples -sugarcoated with reforms for equality.

pls be generous with your philosophies.

Here is a copy/paste of an article from blogspot.com…

Clarion Fund Puts Lipstick on Terrorism Pig Documentary

Who is the “Clarion Fund” and why is it paying for placing 28 million copies of “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West” DVD’s in swing state newspapers?

The Clarion Fund, who’s website only identifies the group as “a 501(c)(3) organization. We are independent and do not accept funding from the U.S. Government, political institutions, or foreign organizations.” It does not identify who it’s board of directors are, but says it’s “mission is to educate Americans about issues of national security.” Their focus “is on the most urgent threat of radical Islam. By utilizing the following three mediums, Clarion Fund is helping Americans understand that the mainstream media is not adequately conveying the reality of radical Islam.”

Through some web digging, I was able to identify three players, Raphael Shore who is a Canadian citizen who is the producer/co-writer of the film and founder of the Clarion Fund, Wayne Kopping, a South African national, the director and co-writer and Gregory Ross, who is the communications director of this New York based non-profit group. Ross was “originally from Los Angeles and have lived overseas for many years. I moved back to LA from New York after 9-11, and a stint on Wall Street, and started working in the Hollywood Entertainment community.” Ross does not disclose how the film was produced, but is quoted as saying “The film was financed by a concerned citizen who has a long standing relationship with our organization. The cost was under $500k and it took over a year to complete.” Something about this group doesn’t pass the smell test, particularly when no information is available about its donors and board of directors.

Maybe most concerning about this film is that, according to Ross “I know that the U.S. Department of the Navy uses the film and that it has also been shown on Capitol Hill on many occasions in order to education politicians. We have also screened it at countless universities and colleges. However we are unsure as to if it is being used in their curriculums we certainly hope it is.”

By law, 501(c)(3) organizations are not permitted to engage in political activity, endorse or oppose political candidates, or donate money or time to political campaigns, so it was surprising to learn that there was an article on the group’s new Web site, http://www.radicalislam.org, that backed Republican presidential candidate John McCain. The article discussed both candidates and concludes:

“McCain’s policies seek to confront radical Islamic extremism and terrorism and roll it back while [Barack] Obama’s, although intending to do the same, could in fact make the situation facing the West even worse.”

According to Clarion Fund director of communications Gregory Ross, the article “crossed the line” and was removed.

Gregory Ross also said in an interview with Frontpage magazine, a right-wing online publication, “we are just a few weeks from completing our next documentary, The Third Jihad – though it is not a sequel. This new film will take a look at radical Islams activities here in the U.S. We should be releasing the film in early October. So stay tuned.”

Stay tuned indeed, as this group tries to scare voters with their own form of psychological terrorism.

Regarding “The 3rd Jihad”,I have to wonder how this group could possibly know about “radical Islam’s” activities in the U.S., in that all such information is classified with a high-level security rating (don’t ask me how I know), and no one outside of the White House is being told anything. Hmmm…

Well, if you do get this, consider the source before you make judgements as to whether or not it’s just another piece of propaganda from the Conservative party.

Questions…. in answer to your obvious ignorance… I’m pro-choice, and pro-Obama. This DVD being handed out is obviously a political tool sponsored by the Conservatives to scare people into voting for McCain. How much more obvious can you get when these people hide so much information about themselves and have websites that support McCain??? I’m not blind, are you?

If you are a serious non/fem activist with a problem with radical feminism then why not take up political arms against the parliament/congressional members and specific academic feminist you are at odds against? How does debating with moderate everyday feminist further the cause of men’s rights? Are YA and other boards a form of entertainment and catharsis?
Best answer has to go to an anti-fem on this one. It’s only fair since the question is addressed to them specifically.

I am not in any way saying that it is their fault. Ultimately people have the right to be free and to choose how to live. I don’t agree with abortion or gay marriage but I don’t want to live in a society where people don’t have the freedom to choose how they want to live.

Radical Muslims do not like the immorality that America displays to the rest of the world. From our politics to our entertainment there is another civilization on this planet that is willing to kill us for what we display to the rest of the globe.

Talking to the leaders of Iran and North Korea is nothing more than appeasement because there is zero accountability in an authoritarian regime. The actions of Bush didn’t do anything to make our enemies like us more but they proved that we are willing to fight. Right now, Iran and North Korea know that we won’t fight them right now. Which puts the ball in their court.

If you think that just because the Democrats are in power the world is about to be a peaceful place, you are delusional. The opposite is in fact true. Major war is imminent, on this planet, regardless of which American political philosophy holds the government we are damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

We can fight for freedom, becuase we are going to have to eventually, or we can sit back and allow them to get their pieces in place. We have to fight for freedom becuase no matter what Americans may think about Obama’s abilities, Iran and the DPRK, have proven within the last few days that they are trying to provoke a fight.

It’s time to put aside petty political differences and get on the same page because the wolves are circling our home. If you think that North Korea is not working with our enemies within the Islamic and Latin World, I would like some of whatever you are smoking.

The left must realize a few things. There is a worldwide war shaping up. They hold as much responsibility for starting it as the right does, I can admit we do hold half of the responsibility. Finally, they need to be willing to fight or the freedoms they do have will go down the tubes.

p.s. If the Isreali-Palestinian conflict ended tomorrow we would still have a nuclear armed Iran and DPRK ready to punch us in the collective face.
Wow, what I am saying is that the Liberals won’t keep the radical Muslims from hating us even if we give them everything they want. There will still be a war to fight.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslim.

Is it a concept whose time has come?

*note* this question is for radical Orton marks who thinks he is the god of wwe, and every wrestler on the wwe roster is inferior to him.

to my estimation a good heel carries a show in ratings and entertainment like edge & hhh does, . if orton is best heel of all time like you orton marks present him to be, why does RAW need celebrity guest host to carry it for him? a good heel should carry a shown by himself.

Miss Michigan (an Islamic girl) about radical Islam and terrorism??? This just shows once again the liberal bias of media and entertainment and the fact that the left is willing to take ANY event (no matter how harmless) and turn it into a political statement. Agree or Disagree?

I am 18 and I think they are great. Why do so many British teenagers want to knock them. Do you not see they are a part of a great tradition, earn more money than they spend, provide true entertainment, have great style (look At princess Di, ok, when she was alive). OK they have their faults, but they are only human and above all else i think the queen is so hard working and honourable putting duty towards and honour for her country above doing what is easy qand slacking off. And i think the princes, especially William will carry on doing this. (OK Prince Harry dressing up as a nazi was a bit silly but he didn’t mean it cruelly). I think people who knock them are just mindless who want to appear radical because they have nothing else to complain about. Admit it, you would miss them if they went!!! I would :(

I don’t have a 360 and am not getting one, but I’d like to try out programs similar to XNA game studio. Are there any I can use for the PS3? If there are any older ones for the original Xbox or the PS2 then they’ll do as well.
So you mean I’d need to ask sony? I’m very new to this sort of stuff…
